Melissa Reese—known simply as “Mel” around the lodge and in the blinds—is a powerhouse in the world of outdoor leadership. As General Manager of Pro Outfitters’ legendary Grey’s Lodge in Rulo, Nebraska, Mel orchestrates the day-to-day operations of one of the Midwest’s most sought-after waterfowl destinations. But her influence runs far beyond schedules and logistics.

A decorated turkey hunter and experienced waterfowl guide, Mel is a force in the field—respected for her skill, grit, and deep respect for the wildlife she pursues. Her trophy wall tells part of the story, but it’s her role as a mentor and leader that truly sets her apart. Mel is a vocal advocate for women in the outdoors, breaking barriers with boots on the ground and a call in hand. She’s committed to creating space for women and young hunters to thrive in an industry that’s rapidly evolving—and better for it.

Outside of the hunt, Mel serves as a passionate conservation leader with Ducks Unlimited, playing a vital role in fundraising, education, and habitat protection.
